There is significant evidence that consciousness is related to the physical brain. There is no evidence for a soul or non-physical consciousness. Consciousness is merely a perception of everything around us. Without this we would not be able to input and interpret data. If you turn off a running engine, what happens to the "running"? Such a question as no meaning.
